Stay active.
Stay strong. Stay independent.

We provide comprehensive, evidence-based care for people managing osteoarthritis across all stages. Whether your symptoms are mild, persistent, or beginning to limit your daily activities, our physiotherapists take the time to understand your goals, assess the contributing factors, and guide you through a clear, structured plan to help you stay active and confident in your movement.

Understanding OA

It's not just "wear and tear"

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a common condition affecting the joints — often the knees, hips, shoulders, hands, and spine. It is best understood as a condition of joint sensitivity and reduced capacity, rather than simply "wear and tear." Many people with OA continue to stay active, strong, and independent with the right guidance and support.

Research consistently shows that exercise, education, and lifestyle strategies are the most effective ways to manage osteoarthritis long-term.

Conditions We Manage

Comprehensive OA care

Knee & Hip OA

Early-stage through advanced. Focus on mobility, pain reduction, strength and control.

Shoulder OA

Restoring lifting, reaching, overhead capacity through targeted joint and rotator cuff work.

Spinal OA

Education, mobility, progressive strengthening for resilient spinal function.

Post-flare & Long-term Management

Navigating flares, adjusting activity safely, and building sustainable habits.

Group Programs

GLA:D Program & Musculoskeletal Groups

We run group-based programs targeting strength, balance, physical capacity, and reducing unhelpful behaviours that contribute to persistent symptoms.

Research from the GLA:D (Good Life with osteoArthritis in Denmark) program shows significant, lasting reductions in pain and improved function — without surgery.

Common questions

Is exercise safe if my joints hurt?

Yes. Exercise is one of the most effective tools for managing osteoarthritis. We prescribe exercise appropriate to your current capacity and guide you through a graduated program — pain during movement doesn't mean you're causing further damage.

What is GLA:D and am I eligible?

GLA:D® is a structured group program combining education and supervised exercise, developed specifically for hip and knee OA. It's suitable for most people regardless of severity. Your physiotherapist will assess your suitability at your initial appointment.

Will I eventually need a joint replacement?

Not necessarily. Many people manage OA effectively long-term through strengthening, education, and activity modification. If surgery becomes likely, we'll discuss timing and help you prepare physically — which significantly improves post-operative recovery.

How is this different from going to a gym or personal trainer?

Our programs are clinically led and tailored to your specific joint condition, strength profile, and pain presentation. We monitor your response and adjust load and exercise based on your progress — not a generic fitness approach.
